What causes age-related sensitivity loss in men?
As men age, they often lose sensitivity below the belt, but they don't notice it.
Some studies done in the laboratory have shown men lose as much as 70 or 80% of their sensitivity as they age.
This chart shows how we require greater and greater stimulus to feel much down there.
A higher number means we are NOT feeling as much. I drew the red arrow to show the trend.
So why do we lose sensitivity as we get older?
There could be various reasons for this loss of sensitivity, but it's almost universal. And in men with medical conditions it can be even worse.
You should speak to your doctor about any medical condition, but a lot of men just have a cosmetic issue down there.
The loss of sensitivity is caused by hardened, thickened skin on the glans.
Compare the thickness of the area in question with other body parts in this chart:
The left most organ is the one we are talking about -- and it can go from a 6 to a 20 or so, as it gets keratinized and thickens.
This keratinized thickened skin may feel normal -- but on a microscopic scale it is loaded with a blocking protein called keratin and it has many more layers of cells.
If you touch the area in question your fingers won’t feel the difference.
But if you could go back in time to when you were 22, you would notice it feels VERY different to your fingertips.
It’s just such a gradual thing that we don’t perceive the keratinization and thickening of the skin.
And that’s why I made Presentation Oil.
As a physician and a man, I admire men who are working tough jobs that contribute to our American way of life -- and these men deserve to feel every sensation. They work hard and they are entitled.
Plus, if you don’t feel much down there, you may not be active anymore, and that lack of activity leads to low T, and depression and even heart disease.
It’s “use it or lose it” -- something I keep in mind with my patients and in the Ideal Male lab.
I think you’ll find a lot more sensation with regular use, and you may want to consider pairing Presentation Oil with Presentation Polish.
You use the Polish in the shower to mechanically and gently remove excess skin layers, and you put on Presentation Oil after your shower so it can go to work all day.
Helping combat keratinization helps restore the soft silky feeling down there that a man had when he was younger, and at the same time it helps restore sensitivity by cosmetically improving the skin surface and making it softer and less keratinized.
Ultimately, the body responds by thinning the skin out, and the thinner skin is more sensitive skin and more youthful looking and more youthful feeling.
